My Saga...

There once was a man from..........Wylie, Tx. And that man is me! All jokes aside, I grew up in the once small town of Wylie, Tx and have lived in the Dallas metroplex since. I met my wife, Ashton, growing up running and playing in the neighborhoods where we grew up, parted ways in high school, and then rekindled the flame waiting tables at the world famous Joe's Crab Shack........ it was a while ago, to be fair. I spent my time in undergrad at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) and completed my Master's degree at Southern Methodist University (SMU). I was originally drawn to the field of mental health by my desire to work with Veterans struggling with PTSD. Growing up, I had the opportunity to see firsthand how military service can affect an individual, and I felt uniquely positioned as a male to help these wounded warriors. Since then, I have fallen in love with being a therapist. I have had opportunity to work with individuals with many different backgrounds, from battling addiction to managing Schizophrenia - and I get a thrill from helping where I can. As a therapist, my aim is not to give you the answers you seek, but rather to help guide you to your own answers within you. You are the expert on you, and together we can navigate through life struggles.

I am passionate in working with individuals who experience addiction, PTSD, anxiety, depression, severe mental illness, life transitions, family or relational strain, and relational trauma. If you find yourself in one of these situations, give us a call and lets figure it out together!

Experience

Psychiatric Hospital

Client Advocate and Case Manager

Psychotherapist

I have had the unique opportunity to work closely with those who needed residential psychiatric care. During my time at Medical City McKinney, I gained insight into how to care for clients who found themselves in mental health crisis. I understand the unique challenges of those who live with severe mental illness and strive to help clients and families get connected to life-giving supports. A healthy support system is one of the best defenses against future hospitalizations.

I have also had experience as a Client Advocate/Case Manager, giving me unique insight into what it takes to change and how to support close family members as their loved one engages in treatment. Change is hard - even if we want it. As advocate for all of my clients, it is my goal to help connect to resources, provide support for family, and gain a more full understanding of the roles each family member plays.

As a Psychotherapist, I have experience with individual who are battling addiction, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relational issues. I believe that who we are, what we believe, what we know about the world and ourselves is all informed in the context of relationship. All of our hurts and pains also stem from the same source. For true healing to occur, it makes sense that healing also takes place in the context of relationship.  Ultimately, my goal is to help you understand yourself in a new and profound way - through self understanding we are freed to make the moves and changes we've always wanted in our lives.
